Joe Smith Will Make An Incredible Difference

  • Wednesday, September 28, 2016

While now in retirement several hundred miles from Chattanooga, I was still quite excited to hear that my friend and colleague of many years, Joe Smith, had decided to run for the District 3 seat on the Hamilton County Commission. What an incredible difference he will make as he serves your community.

For a number of years I served in a counseling position at McCallie School. At the beginning of my tenure, I interviewed Joe for a position as a drug/alcohol educator. It took me only one interview to know he was the man for the job. Being in recovery himself, his credibility with our students was profound. Equally important was his servant’s heart, especially for adolescents. He and his wife, Paula, have demonstrated their giving spirit by having fostered a number of adolescents in their home as they raised their own wonderful children.

Joe is a God-fearing believer who is convinced that his place on this earth is that of serving his fellowman no matter their age or circumstance. He has never met a “mere mortal.” His love for people knows no bounds, and his energy level for serving them seems to have no limits.

It is my joy and pleasure to endorse Joe Smith for the District 3 seat on the Hamilton County Commission.
