Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership received $5,000 from FSG Bank to promote local healthy lifestyle initiatives, such as Bike Around Murray, the Bill Gregory Healthcare Classic, and other events for low- to moderate-income families.
The donated funds will also help continue research development and implementation of programs for a sustainable healthcare system, said Gregory J. Dent, Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership executive director.
“We are thankful FSG Bank decided to take a larger role in creating a healthy community and ‘making healthy happen’ in Northwest Georgia,” Mr. Dent said. “FSG’s funding will be used for NGHP to foster collaboration and create savings by breaking down silos within the healthcare system. It’s a win for everybody, but it’s especially beneficial for low- to moderate-income families.”
Funds will also go toward Readers to Leaders, an initiative which works to create a culture of literacy, said Kevin Brunson, FSG Bank City president.
“FSG Bank is proud to partner with Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership in their mission to bring sustainable healthcare practices to the underserved in Dalton,” Mr. Brunson said. “We believe communities should be healthy in all areas of life and that begins with personal health.”
The NGHP recently began several new programs: the Northwest Georgia Healthy Babies Clinic, which helps women receive the prenatal care they need, and a Senior Living Seminar Series which helps senior citizens prepare for the next phases of life.
