Who's Investigating The Mayor And His Administration?

  • Friday, September 30, 2016

Thank you, Tony Sanders, for having the courage to stand up and speak out about the mayor and his current administration using an encryption app for text communications.  Making a public statement against the mayor could not have been easy.  This current administration has shown it can be mean-spirited and vindictive.  I applaud your audacity.

As a citizen of Chattanooga, I can only assume the use of this app was for hiding communications between staffers and administration, possibly even some council members?  What other explanation could there be?  Problem is - who is taking this investigation further?  What entity holds the mayor and his staff accountable to federal and Tennessee law concerning the Freedom of Information Act?  Is there punitive action that can be taken, and if so, what is it?  Is this something that the Attorney General D.A. Pinkston should look into or even the TBI?  Can any taxpaying citizen call for an investigation?  If so - who do they call?

How do we taxpayers know that a different app is not being used since the mayor's use of the WhatsApp has been "outed".  What about the apps Signal or Allo?  Is anybody investigating the use of a different app to shield communication?

Come on Chattanooga.  Come on local media.  This is a big deal.  This issue should not be swept under the rug.
