Continue The Current Leadership In Lakesite

  • Friday, September 30, 2016

November gives each of us an opportunity to go to the polls and demonstrate our “opinion” on how our government is functioning and select those candidates who we feel represent our ideas on how our tax dollars should be spent.  The citizens of Lakesite are currently served by five elected commissioners who continue the long-standing tradition of frugal tax management and maintaining the same residential tax rate for the past 19 years.

Several seats on our Commission are up for election this November and I am asking for your consideration in keeping the guidance of our city on the same path that has shown to be successful for the last several years.

John McPherson has served as vice-mayor and brings years of financial management and budget awareness experience to the table.  He deals with each issue faced by the Commission with honesty and integrity, never willing to spend tax dollars without a demonstrated need and goal of the investment.

Commissioner Bill Neighbors, with a Masters-level education in urban issues and decades of military service, oversees the status and maintenance of our roads and public access areas.  His knowledge of Public Works issues allows us an advanced approach, unusual in its availability for a small city like Lakesite.

Both of these incumbent Commissioners, having practiced sound financial decisions for years, allow Lakesite to remain an affordable lifestyle that we are so proud of.

I ask each of the voters in Lakesite to consider the success that has been demonstrated in past years and return both John McPherson and Bill Neighbors to the Lakesite City Commission.  Let’s continue the leadership and direction that has been enjoyed by our citizens.

Ken Wilkerson
