John “Bud” Howard, 83, of Georgetown, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, September 29,2016 at Health Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronny Howard, Junior Howard and Ira Howard; and sisters, Rose Scroggins, Elizabeth “Tip” Long, Edna Shaver, Lizie Couey and Willie Womack.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Tim Book, of Georgetown; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Cathy Talton, of Georgetown; brothers, James “Bo” Howard, of Chattanooga, Roscoe Howard, of Cleveland, Donnie Howard, of Cleveland, Jesse Ray Howard, of Birchwood and Franklin “Pete” Howard, of Big Springs; sister, Christine Thompson, of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. David Evans officiating with burial to follow in Beta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday Sept. 30.
