Wasted Tax Dollars - And Response (2)

  • Friday, September 30, 2016

In the past year my $3,500.00 in property tax to the city of Chattanooga has resulted in the sanitation engineers failing to pick up my garbage a minimum of 20 times.  Recently missed two times in August and now two times in September.  As of this post it's 6:15 p.m. Friday, 09-30-16, and the stinking trash is still on the street to be picked up even after calling them before lunch today to tell them the problem.

I’ve emailed my councilman twice today but have yet to receive a response.  I assume these over-paid government employees and my councilman are too busy getting ready for the great American weekend.

After all it's only trash

Mr. Mansfield,

I am sorry that you have had this experience with the City of Chattanooga. Please email me your address and any other details you wish to offer to canderson@chattanooga.gov and I will work to find a solution.

I don’t know who your council representative is, but I assume it isn’t me since I don’t have any emails from you. Send me your information and I will get to work.

Councilman Chris, don't take everything some of these people complain about as gospel. I've never, in my nearly 40 years, had much of any issues with garbage pickup enough to call in and complain. Some of these people will complain about every little thing. Even calling police on and reporting neighbors who've lived in some of these communities for decades as "suspicious" persons innocently walking down a sidewalk, minding their own business.

Here's a suggestion, place someone in or around Mr. Mansfield's home to monitor the situation. He may turn out that Mr. Mansfield is placing his garbage out after the trucks have already passed by. Or he may be placing his garbage cans in an area not visible to the city pick-up trucks.

Either way, it's an election year, and all sorts start to come out from under their rocks with imagined and even manufactured complaints on just about any and every matter. And I've learned from personal experience, some of these people simply fabricate a lot of stuff in an attempt to get someone they favor elected.

Good luck. Councilman, I'm personally cheering that you're re-elected, along with Mayor Berke. The haters are going to come out in droves spreading not even a tenth of a truth and mixing a big lot of lies in their attempts to get their own in office. They have no compassion, no empathy and no soul and no conscious. Because in order for one to possess a conscious they must first have a soul. Some of these people are ruthless and soulless. And they wonder where the children are getting it all from. Heck. Those children are mirrored images of adult behavior in miniature version.

Best Wishes
Brenda Washington
