Adam Brown, 33, was shot in a road rage incident at a Dayton Pike convenience store late Monday afternoon. A Rhea County man was later charged in the case.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 13424 Dayton Pike to the BP Gas Station for the report of a person shot.
The preliminary investigation conducted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office shows that the shooting was caused by a verbal argument between two motorists that quickly escalated to one of them being shot.
The HCSO reassures the public and the Bakewell community that this shooting was in no way gang related.
At approximately 7 p.m., Donald Stuard II, 29, was taken into custody by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office detectives at a residence in Rhea County with the assistance of Rhea County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Information obtained from eyewitnesses of the shooting provided law enforcement with key information that led to the arrest of Stuard, who has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
The victim was transported via Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital. He continues to receive medical treatment.
