Sale Creek, CCS, Silverdale, Grace Among Volleyball Winners

Sale Creek and Chattanooga Christian both posted straight-set volleyball wins on Thursday with the Lady Panthers improving to 20-3 overall and 3-0 in District 6-A with the 25-1, 25-8, 25-9 win at Richard Hardy.

In another key District match in 5-A, the Grace Academy Lady Golden Eagles remained unbeaten after six matches with a 3-1 win over Boyd-Buchanan, another team who came into Thursday's match unbeaten in district play.  Set scores were 25-13, 25-27, 25-16 and 25-14.

The CCS Lady Chargers did their winning at home as they swept Grundy County  by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-10.

Bailey Nelson was the spark plug for Sale Creek as she finished the day with 13 assists and 14 aces while teammate Ariana Smith chipped in with seven kills, seven digs and five aces.

A.J. Johnson had 13 kills and five digs to lead the Lady Chargers while Rachel Kay had 21 assists and Cassie Curry eight digs and seven aces.

CCS is now 6-8 overall and 4-2 in District 7-AA.

Silverdale beat Copper Basin by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 in a District 5-A contest.

Ooltewah (17-8) rebounded from a rare District 5-3A loss against Cleveland to defeat rival East Hamilton 3-0 by tight scores of 25-19, 27-25 and 25-23.
