McCallie School all-state quarterback Robert Riddle has committed today to attend Mercer University next season to play football for the Bears.
Riddle led the Big Blue to a 7-5 record this past season, including a 42-7 victory against arch rival Baylor. On the season, he threw for 3,008 yards (school record), at a 70% completion rate (school record) and 25 touchdowns and also ran for seven scores.
247 Sports Composite rankings have him listed as the No.40 overall Pro-Style QB in the country, the No.32 best prospect in the state of Tennessee and is also ranked as the No.1 QB in Tennessee..
The Lookout Mountain resident has a 3.9 grade point average and a member of cum laude, national honor society and Keo Kio (senior leadership) and was a co-captain in football.
Mercer was 6-5 this past season and 4-1 at home and plays Auburn and Alabama this fall.
