Louella Wesley
Louella Mitchell Wesley, 84, affectionately known to many as “Antie”, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence.
She was a teacher for many years at Orange Grove School. She was also a faithful member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Wesley; her parents, Horace Mitchell and Elizabeth Davis Chislom; and brother, Lindsey Mitchell.
Survivors include her sisters, Esther (Simon) Price, Shirley (Gordon) Wells, both of Rome, GA, Yvonne Richards (Leonard) Do’zia of Lilburn, GA; and Pam Sue (Walter) Johnson of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, JoAnn Hughes; very special nieces, Pamela (David) Garrett of Ooltewah, Beverly (James) Nicholson, Sandra (Wallace) Wade, Alma Mitchell (Arnell Castleberry), Elizabeth Mitchell, all of Chattanooga, Gloria (Jimmy) Black of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Michelle Davis of Cedartown, GA; a host of other nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; beloved friends, James Patten of Chattanooga, Alice Watson of Albany, GA and many other friends.
She will lie in state on Friday, Jan. 27, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at Christ Community Church with Pastor Mark Garrett officiating and Pastor Fred Harris as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
