Auditions For Lee’s Children’s Chorale To Take Place Monday

  • Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Auditions for the spring semester of Lee University’s Children’s Chorale will be held Monday from 6-7 p.m.

The Lee University Children’s Chorale is an opportunity for area students to be involved in a community ensemble that is committed to excellence. Students will be encouraged to grow both as musicians and singers throughout rehearsal and enjoy performing music that will challenge and inspire them, said officials.

The LUCC is made up of two choirs: Advanced Choir for grades 4-7, and Training Choir for grades 1-3, both under the direction of Darla Boyd.

Ms. Boyd is a graduate of Lee University and has extensive choral teaching experience in Florida. She currently directs choral music at Bradley County High School.

Auditions will involve a prepared song that the student is familiar with from school or church, pitch matching, and vocal exploration.

Tuition for the ensemble is $100 for Advanced Choir and $50 for the Training Choir with discounts available for families with two or more students involved.

Auditions will take place in the School of Music’s Curtsinger Building, Room 223, with registration beginning at 5:45 p.m. in the 2nd floor common area.
