James Dodson
James Carrel Dodson, Sr., 55, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017.
He was a resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of East Ridge High School Class of 79 and then went on to get his HVAC Certification from Chattanooga State. He was a maintenance engineer for many years and enjoyed fishing. James took pride in his work and if it was broken, James could fix it. He was a loving and devoted son, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Dodson; brother, Donald Wayne Dodson and grandparents, Walter and Ulah Snodgrass Dodson and Houston and Grace Payne Walker.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Dodson of East Ridge; children, James Carrel Dodson, Jr. and Rebekah Denham, both of Chattanooga, and Brittany Pominski of Lebanon, TN; brother, Dennis Dodson of East Ridge; sister, Deborah Dodson Brown of Mt. Pleasant, TN; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend Dennis Eugene Dodson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
