Laverne Legere
Laverne Winfred Legere, 80, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
She was formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., moving to this area in 1980.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Richard and Alice Barnaby; husband of 63 years, Charles J. Legere; son, James Legere; daughter, Marion Legere; sister, Alice Wisniewski; brother, Jimmy Barnaby.
She is survived by her children, Sonny (Barbara) Legere, Charlene (Thomas) Hynes, of Levittown, N.Y., Maurice (Denise) Legere, of Staten Island, N.Y., Alice (Bobby) Garcia, of Rossville, Nicole (Nathan) Legere-Wells, of Ringgold; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; grand puppy “Honey Girl”; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Pat Davis officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery, Noble, GA.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 20, from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday up to the hour of service at the funeral home.
