Marc Gravitt Named To House Caucus Leadership Role

  • Thursday, January 19, 2017

Tennessee Rep. Marc Gravitt has been selected to lead the Republican House Caucus Review Committee for the 110th General Assembly which just convened last week.

“I am honored to serve with Majority Leader Glen Casada and Caucus Chairman Ryan Williams in the legislative and policy efforts of bill review,” said Rep. Gravitt, owner of Gravitt Auction and Appraisals, LLC, who serves on the House Business and Utilities and Local Government Committees.  “Making our time on the House floor more productive to cast informed votes will be my focus.”

The House Caucus Review Committee meets prior to House floor votes to present bills to the entire caucus to permit discussion with sponsors, answering questions, hearing objections and amendments.  The chairman is tasked with creating the meetings’ agenda and facilitating discussions among the Tennessee House Republicans.

“Marc’s leadership skills will be utilized as chairman of bill review to analyze legislation and prepare for critical votes that come to the House floor,” said House Majority Leader Glen Casada who was recently elected to succeed Rep. Gerald McCormick. “Marc’s role as chairman of this committee will be invaluable in forming public policy that Tennesseans deserve and expect.”
