G. P. “Sane” Jackson, Sr., 84, of South Pittsburg, TN, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his home.
The son of the late Ezekiel and Mary Jane Toney Jackson, he accepted Christ at a young age. He worked as an Auxiliary Operator for TVA for 25 years and also served as an auxiliary policeman for the city of South Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jackson, son, Gerald Bernard Jackson, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Tom (Denise) Jackson of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Nakia Barksdale of South Pittsburg, Christopher Jackson of Roseville, CA, and Bradley Jackson of Murfreesboro, TN; two great-granddaughters, Charlotte & Madelyn Jackson of Roseville, CA; special nieces, Dorothy Jackson, Charlsie Edwards, Annetta Ballard, and Irene Tate; special friends, Eddie Moore, Jimmy Wigfall, and Robert Coffey; several other cherished nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 12:00 Noon Central time with Everet L. Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tn.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday.
