Claire Emery Roessel, 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

She was born in Philadelphia, on Jan. 14, 1927. She was the daughter of the late William F. and Clara V. Emery and was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Roessel and daughter, Joyce Lynn Roessel.

Claire was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Elsie Roessel, of Chattanooga, two grandsons, Robert and Scott Roessel, four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Landon, Madison and Hannah Roessel, sister-in-law, Carolyn Roessel, of Chapel Hill, NC, brother-in-law, Harold Hartman, of Greenwood Lake, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Silverdale Baptist Church, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
