Corker And Alexander Vote To Confirm Mike Pompeo As Director Of CIA

  • Monday, January 23, 2017

Senator Bob Corker on Monday voted in favor of Congressman Mike Pompeo to serve as the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

He said, “Director Pompeo brings the knowledge and military experience needed to help address the emerging threats at home and abroad.

He is a tireless advocate for the intelligence community, and I look forward to his leadership at the CIA as we work to improve our national security.”

Senator Lamar Alexander said, “Rep. Mike Pompeo has a thorough understanding of the intelligence community and the tools it needs to keep Americans safe. His service in the U.S. Army and as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives – where he was a member of the House Intelligence Committee – have prepared him well for this role. I am glad the Senate confirmed his nomination today.”
