The Bar Exam competition is Saturday at the Camp House
Executive producer Mike Sick (Savage Fam Productions, Poetry Vs. Hip-Hop) is bringing The Bar Exam, Atlanta's "premiere open-mic showcase and competition" four years running to Chattanooga on Saturday. Sixteen artists will compete, three industry judges will critique and narrow down the top four. Ultimately, the audience will decide who will 'pass the bar or pass the mic'.
The Bar Exam takes the excitement, drama, heartbreak of the likes of American Idol and Showtime at the Apollo and puts it in front of a live audience.
The industry judges are two-time Grammy winning/multi-platinum producer Focus of Beyonce, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar; Ant Marshall - creator of the New York Lyricist Lounge Sketch Show on MTV; and Scott Bruce - music curator and columnist for Chatter Magazine.
The halftime show will feature Poet Christian Collier (Chattanooga, TED Talks) and the emcee will be Z RICH, formerly known as PHENE (Atlanta, Sway in the Morning). I am Velvet will also present poetry.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 limited guaranteed seating, or $15 and $10 at the door. The show is for ages 18 and older.
The show will be held at The Camp House, 149 E. MLK Blvd. Doors open at 8 p.m with a DJ and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
Artist registration is closed.
