Dorothy Brown
Dorothy Warren Brown, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
She was born in Old Hickory, Tennessee on March 27, 1931. A devout Christian, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dot retired from SunTrust Bank, Hixson branch, after 18 years of service. She had a passion for life and others. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the “apple of her eye”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wayne Brown.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie Lou Nichols and Katy Allison; three children, Connie (John) Odom, Alan (Michele) Brown, and Mike (Margaret) Brown; grandchildren, Zac (Adina) Odom, Amanda (Jonathan) Smalley, Johnna (Byron) Shultz, Jonathan (Kathryn) Brown, Jared (Brooke) Brown, Hunter (Lacey) Brown, Brenton Hochstetler, Brandon (Britleigh) Hochstetler, and Blake Hochstetler; and 9 ½ great-grandchildren.
A service to commemorate her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Hansen and Pastor Stan Combs officiating.
The family will gather with friends on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. A private entombment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
