Police Blotter: Stolen Items Are Behind Hixson Drug Store As Anonymous Caller Says; 5th Horseman Of The Apocalypse Just Wanted A Ride Home

A man told police that items that had been stolen from him turned up behind the CVS on Hixson Pike. He said he had gotten an anonymous phone call telling him his stolen laptop and camcorder was behind the drug store.

The victim wanted to look at the store video to see who dropped the items off. The store video showed an unknown make of sedan go behind the store and leave a short time later. The video was of poor quality and the sedan could not be identified clearly. No people were visible on the video.

The victim took possession of his belongings without incident. Both items looked undamaged.

A woman said someone stole her white 2001 Hyundai from a parking lot in the 7700 block of Lee Highway.

She said she had left it running and unlocked with a spare key inside the vehicle.

Police were summoned to Belk's at Hamilton Place on a shoplifting case. A loss prevention specialist said two women concealed store items without offering payment.

Miscellaneous clothing valued at approximately $397.50 was taken.

Quantearra Colvin of W. 12th Street Court was taken to jail since she had a warrant out for her arrest in another case.

Belk's at Hamilton Place also called to say they had caught William Hickman trying to steal multiple items of clothing.

He was charged in connection with the theft of $149 in merchandise.

The alert loss prevention specialist at Belk's also stopped Angie Sparks for theft.

He said she tried to steal a $185 jacket.

She was issued a citation in lieu of arrest.

Police responded to 271 Cherry St in regards to a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival police located the vehicle, a 2016 Audi A3 , left running and unsecured in the free parking lane.

Police attempted to locate an owner in the nearby residences but were unsuccessful. Police then entered the vehicle and learned that it was keyless ignition.

Police turned off the car and attempted to secure the vehicle. The vehicle would not lock. Police left the scene having turned the vehicle off but unlocked.

An employee of Fresh Market on Gunbarrel Road said a man who had stolen from the store before was back sacking up a couple bags of shrimp.

The employee said while Jeffrey Bush was in the center of the store he was asked if he was going to pay this time. He said Bush then left the cart with the shrimp in the center of the store and departed without taking anything.

Police said a warrant had been issued for the previous theft, however, apparently Bush had not been banned from the store.

Store employees were told to call if Bush shows back up.

Police were called to referee a dispute between a couple on 8th Avenue. The woman accused her husband of having an affair when she found panties that did not belong to her in the home.

The husband denied the accusation and stated that his wife regularly accuses him of this. The wife was unhappy that the husband refused to help pay for divorce papers to finally end the issue.

The wife continually stated that police did nothing to help her and that whatever happened would happen. Police were unable to take any legal action at this time for no criminal activity had occurred.

Police responded on a report of a stolen utility trailer at Don's Meat Shop on Hixson Pike.

The owner said at approximately 2:02 a.m., a white Honda Pilot drove up to his business and cut the lock off a '01 Haul Right Single Axle 5x10 Utility Trailer and drove off with it.

The trailer belonged to an employee of Don's Meat Shop. The passenger, a unknown white male, came out the SUV and loaded the trailer.

The incident was caught on video and the owner was going to save the video for Auto Theft.

An Hispanic woman told an officer through a translator that her car was stolen while she was inside the Burger King on E. 23rd Street.

She said she came into Burger King to eat inside. While inside eating an unknown party drove away in her vehicle. She was not sure whether or not she had her keys with her or if they were in the vehicle.

The officer reviewed video from the store cameras. He reported, "I did not see anyone take her keys from inside the store. I was unable to determine from the video who actually got into and drove away with the vehicle."

Police said Scott Conibear reported that someone tried to mug him in the bathroom at the Speedway on Bonny Oaks Drive.

An officer said, "However, he also claimed to be the 5th Horseman of the Apocalypse and only rightful king of Great Britain among other interesting and untrue things."

He said Conibear was trying to get a ride closer to his home on north Highway 58 and the officer gave him a ride to the Waffle House on Highway 58 at Highway 153.
