James County Historical Society Meeting February 5

The James County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, February 5 at 2:30pm at the Ooltewah United Methodist Church

Our meeting next week will be a continuation of our imaginary walk down the streets of James County. We will have discussions, memories, photos, etc to aid us in our tour. 

Bring a friend and let's see what fun and interesting memories are brought to the forefront.  All are welcome.

Chester Martin Remembers Tapp's Valley Store

William Bomar Tapp was a distant relative of mine who lived well over 100 years ago in northwest Chattooga County, Ga. Signal School Study Says Under Own School System Much More Could Go To The Classroom; Lennon Says Getting Land, Buildings A Major Issue

Man, 39, Shot Late Friday Night In The Vicinity Of North Chamberlain Avenue

Police said a 39-year-old man was shot late Friday night in the vicinity of North Chamberlain Avenue.   He was identified as Ruben Williams Sr.   Officers with the Chattanooga Police Department were informed just before midnight that a shooting victim arrived at a local hospital via personal vehicle.   Officers made contact with the victim who advised ... The recent debate over the Convention and Visitor's Bureau's funding and budget has gotten ugly. A Hamilton County commissioner has asked questions and made comments about the CVB.
