Walter Brown
Walter "Larry" Brown, 85, of Chattanooga passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was born September 28, 1931 in Clifton, SC, to the late Walter T. and Garnet Sprinkle Brown.
His family moved to Asheville, NC, where he grew up and attended and graduated from Sand Hill School.
He was a graduate of Mars Hill College and Chattanooga State.
He was a United States Navy veteran.
Mr. Brown was a retired electrical engineer and a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
His brother, Roger Wade Brown and sisters, Wanda Lou Brown and Betty Glen Brown preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Modena Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Becca Lynn and Craig McClure.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421. Pastor Mark Flynn will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-6 p.m.
Interment and graveside services will be at Riverside Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, in Asheville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
