A topping out ceremony for the new $28 million mixed-use building at 728 Market St. will be Feb. 7 at 3 p.m., officials of the contractor, EMJ Construction, said.
Those set to attend include Mayor Andy Berke and County Mayor Jim Coppinger as well as officials of the Simpson Organization and the River City Company.
At the event, officials will sign a structural beam that will then be lifted in place on top of the building.
The 10-story project includes 125 apartments, 21,000 square feet of commercial space and 21,000 square feet of ground-floor retail/restaurant space.
The site at one time was slated for a condominium development, but that fell through and the site was vacant for years.
