Lady Pioneers Soccer Wins District 8AA Championship In OT

East Ridge claimed the District 8AA Championship title with a double-overtime win over Hixson Thursday night.

Ana Villegas, assisted by Kendall Dickson scored for the Lady Pioneers with only 14 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.

Hixson outshot East Ridge 14-7 but was unable to find the net. East Ridge's keeper, Sarah Hudgens had eight saves. 

The Lady Pioneers are 9-4-1 this season.

East Ridge will host McMinn Central for the Region Semifinals on Tuesday at Camp Jordan at 7:30 p.m.
