Quarterback Dylan Standifer threw for a touchdown and ran for one Friday night as Bradley Central raced to a 27-6 Region 2-6A high school football victory against visiting Heritage at Bear Stadium.

The victory, the Bears’ sixth straight after a season-opening loss to Farragut in overtime, enabled coach Damon Floyd’s squad to stay tied with Maryville atop the region standings.

Maryville whipped Ooltewah on Thursday night. Both teams are 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the region.

Standifer, who is completing 71.3 percent of his passes, was 16 for 20 for 258 yards with a 20-yard TD pass to Lameric Tucker. The quarterback opened the Bears’ scoring with a 1-yard run in the first quarter.

Tucker had a 6-yard scoring run and Devon Moore hit paydirt from the 1 as Bradley Central built a 21-6 halftime lead.

Standifer is now 119 for 167 for 2,128 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. Tucker, who has committed to UT-Chattanooga where he’ll rejoin former Bears quarterback Cole Copeland, has 47 receptions for 1,062 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Tucker has 1,394 all-purpose yards and is averaging 174.2 yards per game. He also leads Bradley in scoring with 84 points, with place-kicker Clay Shoemaker a distant second with 40.

Adam Mullis led the Bears’ rushing attack with 96 yards on 20 carries, giving him 560 this season.

Moore’s short run produced his first rushing touchdown on the season. He has one pass reception – only his fourth on the year -- for a TD.

Heritage (3-4, 2-1) got its only score in the second quarter, a 7 yard run by D.J. Cooper.

Bradley Central now has a 6-3 lead in the series with Heritage.
