Lee Volleyball Finishes South Region Crossover At 1-2

The Lee volleyball team lost in four sets to Eckerd College (25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 16-25) to wrap up the South Region Crossover on Saturday night.
 
Lee (13-6) won the first set and looked to be in control of the second set, before Eckerd (10-5) grabbed a late lead to even things up . The Tritons would win the next two sets with ease to claim the 3-1 victory.
 
Lee was paced by juniors Silvia Sartori and Alex Reuter with 11 kills. Senior Sadie Johnson set the offense up with 25 assists..
 
Sartori would complete the double-double posting 19 digs while libero MaKayla Beebe would get the first pass often with 26 to lead Coach Hudson's squad. Ellisia Kimble made an impact from her middle blocker position with four blocks.
 
Eckerd was led by Mackenzie Redner with 20 kills while Kali Boatwright followed with 13 of her own. Fernanda Reis would have all but three of the Tritons 56 assists. Libero Kaitlyn Sibson recorded 28 digs, with Boatwright following closely behind her with 20 to finish the double-double effort.

The Lady Flames opened the crossover event on Friday with a 3-0 sweep of Lynn University.

Lee will be back at home on the Sport Court at Walker Arena to take on Southern Wesleyan at7 p.m. on Tuesday night. The Lady Flames will then jump back into to Gulf South Conference play by traveling to take on the University of Montevallo at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

Lee dropped a straight set match (13-25, 15-25,15-25) to undefeated and fourth-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday afternoon on day two of the GSC/SSC Crossover Tournament.
 
The Lady Flames would be forced to battle for every point in the contest against the powerful Sailfish club.
 
Sartori posted 10 kills and eight digs to lead the way for the Lady Flames. Freshman Hanna Matthews pitched in five assists while Beebe tallied nine digs.
 
Palm Beach Atlantic improved to a perfect 16-0 with the victory and have incredibly dropped just three sets the entire season.

The Sailfish were paced Abby Palkert and Ally Rohn with 10 slams apiece. Molly Burkhardt had 17 assists and was followed closely by Rohn with 13. Rohn, Burkhardt and Susie Forbes all had 13 digs.

It was a block party for PBA as they had 10 team blocks in the match. Maddie Span led the defense at the net as she was in on eight of the rejections.
