A first half goal was all host Huntingdon needed to knock off the Covenant men's soccer team, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon in USA South action at Samford Stadium in Montgomery.

Covenant falls to 6-10-1 overall with the loss and 2-5-1 inside the USA South. Huntingdon has won two straight and goes to 2-11-1 on the year and 2-7 in the conference.

The lone goal of the contest was scored in the 23rd minute.
Huntingdon's John Robert Lawrence was able to get his shot past Covenant keeper Jonathan Crossman for his first goal of the year. That goal would be all the host Hawks needed.

Covenant had few opportunities in the first half with just four shots, none of which were on target. In the second half, the Scots produced seven shots, five of which were put on goal. Josh Brower and Carl Simakoff both put two shots on target in the second half, but Huntingdon keeper Tyler Medina made saves on both to preserve the 1-0 Hawks lead. Brower also had an attempt in the 86th minute go wide of the net, Covenant's last attempt in the match.

Crossman made five saves at the net for the Scots. Medina also made five saves for Huntingdon.

Brower, Simakoff, and Isaac Johnson each took three shots to lead Covenant. Parker Owen and Christopher Kitchen also had shot attempts.
