Korean War Veteran Retired From Kodak After 20 Years

Earl Eugene Bean, 88, of Hixson, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Earl was born in Graysville, Tn., to the late Alton “Parker” and Lucille Dillard Bean. He served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a physician assistant. He retired from Kodak with over 20 years of service. He was a member, deacon and elder at Hixson Seventh Day Adventist Church. 

He was preceded in death by all his siblings.

Earl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Marler Bean; children, Teresa Bean (Millie Totten), Randal Bean (Lynn), Jeffery Bean and Kenneth Bean (Susan), three grandchildren, Angela Chop (Zeke), Eric Bean (Erin), and Kevin Bean; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
