Jimmie Dale Dempsey, age 88, of Whitwell, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. 

Mrs. Dempsey was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Nunley; parents, Jim and Virgie Pickett; daughter, Brenda Durham; sons, Fabian “Worm” Nunley, Mose Wallace “Cat” Nunley, Jr.; grandson, Jim Honea; sisters, Johnnie Kilgore, Virgie Ellen Rollins, Lillian McHone, Olla Mae Pickett; and brother, Willie Pickett.  

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Rick Nunley, Miles Nunley, Sue Layne, Penny Durham, Hope Austin and Tammy Nunley; sister, Becky Rollins; brother, Robert Pickett; grandchildren, Ricky Nunley, Tracy Nelson, Trudy Rollins, Misty Williams, Jeremy Layne, Adam Durham, Craig Perry, Amanda Burnette, Tiffany Nunley; and great-grandchildren, Sheilane, Chastady, Joni, Joshua, Gage, Payton, Trace, Ryan, Cayden, Cole, Keira, Belle, Cruz.  

Family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Allen Griffith officiating.  Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery.
