JoAnn Brannan Owens, 84, of Rossville passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017.

She was a life-long resident of the North Georgia/Chattanooga area. JoAnn retired from JC Penney as a sales clerk and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed being with her family, gardening and traveling.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Roe Owens; parents, James Henry Brannan and Mabel Viola McCallie Brannan; brothers, Charles “Buddy” Brannan and Vernon Brannan; and sisters, Mary Brannan and Mildred Brannan Lawrence. 

Survivors include her daughters, Jan (Steve) Perry, Chattanooga, and Debra Barnes, Ft. Oglethorpe; sister, Louise Daniel, Rossville; grandchildren, Aislinn (Reggie) Perry McMahan, Lauren (Adam) Perry Thomason, Jonathan (Melissa) Barnes, Adam (Kristen) Barnes and Nicholas (Ashley) Barnes; 10 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel with Travis Sharpe officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. 

The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
