Béla Fleck

The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera will have a special event Thursday with 15-time Grammy award winning banjoist Béla Fleck.  The concert will be at the Tivoli Theatre at 7:30 p.m.

Review for Béla Fleck:

Juno, Béla Fleck’s second project as a solo composer for a classical concerto, plays upon the inherent strengths of a symphony orchestra to create a piece that is not only inspired but takes the banjo to new and exciting heights. While the bulk of Juno is slow and contemplative, playful movements at unexpected times accentuate the banjo’s unique sounds and takes patrons through a wide spectrum of emotions.

Celebrated globally as a premier banjo player, Fleck is a 15-time Grammy Award winner and has been nominated in more categories than any other instrumentalist in Grammy history.
