Korean War Veteran Held Long Career With North American Royalties

Allen Rankin Snyder, 82. of East Ridge, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, after a courageous fight against heart disease.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.  Allen was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church and retired from North American Royalties after 34 years of service.  He enjoyed deer hunting and spent many days in the woods looking for that next big buck with his sons, brothers and his nephews, Richard and David Gerlach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rankin and Nellie Snyder; sisters, Louise (Matt) Gerlach and Wilhelmina Kilgore and brothers, Jerry and Virgil Snyder.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Frances; daughter, Angie (Steve) Scruggs; sons, Steve (Rhonda) Snyder and Craig (Sonja) Snyder, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Alex (Jerry) Young and Krissy Scruggs of Nashville, TN, Elliot (Lora) Snyder of Goodyear, AZ, Kylie Scruggs of Cookeville, TN, Haley (Michael), Blake, Trevor, Chelsie, Emily and Gillian Snyder, Miranda and Marissa Roberson, all of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Nolan Young and Easton Snyder; sister-in-law, Jessie Shipp and brother-in-law, O.B. Wooten.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor James Julian officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Spring Creek Road Baptist Church, 1312 Spring Creek Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412.
