31 New Homes Planned Near Alpine Crest Elementary School

A developer is planning to build 31 new homes on a 10.a-acre site near Alpine Crest Elementary School.

H&H Developments said 3.3 acres will be left as community space.

The site at 4653 Cary Lane near Sherry Lane is owned by Smart Choice Properties.

Officials said, "The site is undeveloped existing woodlands. The site has some significant
topographical features to develop around."

It is in the city of Chattanooga near the Red Bank line.

 



Tenants Moving Into Restored Elks Building

Though all the work is not completed, tenants are already moving into the restored Elks Building at 7th and Walnut streets. Tiffanie Robinson, of Lamp Post Properties, said River Street Architecture has moved into the fourth floor, where the Elks once had a ballroom. Navy Veteran From Hixson Who Was Attacked By Fellow Inmate At McMinn County Jail Dies

A Hixson man who went on life support after a vicious attack by a fellow inmate at the McMinn County Jail in Athens, Tn., has died. Family friends said 48-year-old Tim Cook, a Navy veteran, died Saturday after he was kicked repeatedly in the head a week earlier. A report of shots fired at Hamilton Place Mall shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday sent customers at the mall racing out in a panic. Police later said no shooting victims had been found.
