The 2017 USCAA National Golf Championships will begin this Monday in State College, Pa. and the Georgia Northwestern Bobcats had their final pre-tournament dress rehearsal on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the LaFayette (Ga.) Golf Course.

Facing Northeast Alabama Community College in a 36-hole match, the Bobcats turned in their best two rounds of the season and won the match by 37 shots.

The Bobcats (602 total) opened with a 302 as Cole Roberts and David Manis both shot a 2-over par round of 74. Branton Bailey, Lane Strickland and Adrian Clark all finished with a 77. The four lowest scores are counted toward the team total.

In the second 18-hole round, Bailey carded a 2-under 70 - the lowest round for a Bobcat player this fall - to help Georgia Northwestern shoot an even 300. Roberts shot a 75, followed by Strickland with a 77, Manis with a 78 and Clark with an 82.

Ethan Everett had scores of 72 and 80 to pace Northeast Alabama.

"The guys are really improving and working," Bobcats head coach Eddie Jackson said. "It was a great day for golf with the weather and our guys played well."
