Hayes, Dr. Susan Hope

Dr. Susan Hope Hayes, 60, Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. She was born in Gadsden, Al. on Sept. 11, 1957 and had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Westminster High School Class of ’75 and then received her medical degree from the University of Alabama Medical School on June 2, 1985. She served her internship in pediatrics at Erlanger Hospital and then worked her entire career as a pediatric doctor in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and wife, who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Levearl Hayes.

Survivors include her husband, Brad Yates of Chattanooga; mother, Sarah Hayes; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Deana Hayes, all of Gadsden, Al.; niece, Katelyn Hayes and aunt, Betty and Richard Brooks and numerous extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 in the Walnut Park Community Church on Wilson Street in Gadsden, Al. Burial will be private and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
