Senator Bob Corker on Friday announced that David Kinzler has joined his senior management team as legislative director.
“David is one of the most impressive individuals I have had the opportunity to work with throughout my time in public service, and I am excited to have him fill this important role in our office,” said Senator Corker.
“He has been an integral part of our team for nearly four years, and I know he will be a tremendous asset as we continue to serve the people of Tennessee and our country over the next 15 months.”
“Senator Corker will have a huge impact over the next 15 months on the issues that matter most to our country, and I am honored to have the opportunity to help him and our team as we tackle those challenges together,” said Mr. Kinzler.
“David has excelled in every responsibility he has assumed in our office and will continue to provide strong leadership in this new role,” said Todd Womack, chief of staff. “I also want to thank Rob Strayer for his five years of service to our office, state and country. His impact cannot be overstated, and while we are sad to see him go, we are excited for him – and for our country – as he begins important work at the State Department.”
Mr. Kinzler, who most recently served as Corker’s lead advisor for Middle East, North Africa and counterterrorism policy, will serve as the senator’s primary advisor on Senate procedure and legislation for his Senate office and the majority office of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Prior to joining the committee staff, Mr. Kinzler served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed four times overseas and was decorated for valor in Afghanistan. Kinzler is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and will receive a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in May.
Mr. Kinzler replaces Rob Strayer who recently joined the State Department as deputy assistant secretary for cyber and international communications and information policy.
