James F. Lowe, Sr., a man of godly integrity, 97, of Ringgold, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Oct. 8, 2017. He was a member of Graysville United Methodist Church. In his early years, he trained at the Frye Institute and proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce. He was Mr. Tennessee for three years in a row, while he attended college, and was Southeastern Champion for Bodybuilding for one year. He married his late wife, Jean Lowe in 1949 and retired as president of the Chattanooga Goodwill Industries at age 66.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Harriet Lowe; brothers, Paul and Joe Lowe.
He is survived by his children, Renee Mallory, Althea Lowe, James, Jr. Lowe, Robert Lowe; grandchildren, James, Mitzi, Michael, Niki, Chris, Jessica, Jimmy III; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16 in the chapel with Chaplain Kevin Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 1-8 p.m. and Monday until the service time.
