John "Mike" Waters, Sr., 69, of LaFayette, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017. He was born in LaFayette and had moved back to the area in 2006. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970. He had worked for several companies as a salesman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette and was a member of the Men’s Class. He enjoyed fishing, making popcorn and eating pecans and apples.
He is preceded in death by his father: John Calvin “J.C.” Waters, Jr. He is survived by his wife of forty eight years: Cheryl Lynne Schnider Waters; daughter: Michelle Grisham, both of Mountain Home, Ar., son: John Michael (Michelle) Waters, Jr., of Camdenton, Mo.; mother: Vivian Estell Hodges Waters, sister: Jan (Dave) Thompson all of LaFayette; grandchildren: Daultyn Jacobs, Levi, Winter, Raegan and Reece Waters; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 11 from 6 p.m. until the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Doyle Waters officiating.
