George Arthur Green, 85, of Whitwell, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. Mr. Green was a member of House of the Lord Church. He was a retired coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Green; several brothers and sisters; granddaughter, Hope Ramsey; grandsons, Paul Duane Nunley, Dewayne Norton.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Carol Hatfield Green; five children, Deborah (Steve) West of Cheyenne, Wy., Dolores (Charlie) Nunley, Paul (Pam) Green of Whitwell, Georgetta (David) Wooten of Rainsville, Al., Billie Mae (Jimmy) Carlton of Jasper, Tn.; sister, Doris McHone of Dunlap; grandchildren, Jackie and JT Cornelius, Michael and Angie Nunley, Krystal and Joe Beneke, Matthew Nunley, Paul “PJ” Green, Kayla and Tristan Sawyer, Josh Norton; great-grandchildren, Melissa Shutty, Charlene Shutty; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 and noon-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
Funeral services at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ronnie Partin, Rev. Jim Morrison and Kelsey Davis officiating. Interment at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
