Curtis E. Taylor, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017.

Mr. Taylor was born in Portland, Oregon to Donald and Betty Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church where he served in the Children Ministry and as a greeter. Curtis was a member of the Southeast Tennessee Tres Dias Weekend #23, Bible study leader at Silverdale Correctional Institute, and Passion for Kairos Prison Ministry where he served as a mentor to inmates.  He had previously worked in Georgia as a rehab counselor and vocational expert.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Taylor; children, Jason Taylor of Madison, Al., Kristin (Eric) West of Cartersville, Ga., and Alesha (Matt) Hutto of Trinity, Al.; grandchildren, Austin, Colby and Skyler; brother, Richard (Wanda) Taylor of Chattanooga; and sister, Jeanine (Alan) Wright of Birmingham, Al.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home with Pastor Travis Jones and Pastor Ed Snow officiating.

Members of the Deron Austin Small Group will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Silverdale North Ooltewah Church or Kairos Prison Ministry.
