Hamilton County Schools Coupon Book Seller Kenzie Sams Sets All-Time Record

For the fourth straight year, Lookout Valley Elementary School student Kenzie Sams was the top-seller in the Hamilton County Schools Kids First Coupon Book sale. 

With a record-setting 333 coupon books sold, the fifth grader more than doubled her previous record of 160 books in 2015.  Over the past four years, Kenzie has sold 773 coupon books, raising over $5,000 for her school. 

As the top-seller, she won a $500 prize package from the Creative Discovery Museum gift shop.  She plans to donate the toys and games to her school’s fall festival auction, thereby raising even more money for the school. 



Lookout Valley Elementary Finally Get Gym

Lookout Valley Elementary School is finally getting a gym. The County School Board on Thursday night approved a bid of $994,000 by KF Construction of Knoxville. The small gym will also be usable for volleyball, PE classes and other uses, Justin Witt of the county schools said. Juvenile Girl Who Was Shot On Doolittle Street Early Sunday Morning Has Critical Injuries

A juvenile girl who was shot early Sunday morning on Doolittle Street was in critical condition. Chattanooga Police responded at approximately 12:55 a.m. on to a person shot on the 2500 block of Doolittle Street.   Police were able to make contact with the victim at a local hospital where she was suffering from a critical, but non-life threatening gunshot wound.
