Whitfield County Commissioners Barry Robbins and Roger Crossen have received their Core Certification through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, becoming certified county commissioners.

Each year, more than 21,000 elected and appointed government officials and administrators work to improve their knowledge and skills through some 615 continuing education opportunities offered by the Institute. Participants benefit from the advanced instructional tools and broad expertise and experience that Institute instructors bring to all of their education and professional development programs.

The Institute of Government, in partnership with Association County Commissioners of Georgia, offers courses through the Lifelong Learning Academy for county commissioners to develop and enhance their leadership and governing skills. Core Certification, the foundation for a commissioner’s education, includes nine courses covering 66 hours of required courses.
