William Travis Williams
Chattanooga Police said a man who violently escaped from Memorial Hospital wound up fighting police and a homeowner - undeterred by tasers, pepper spray and a K-9.
William Travis Williams, 20, of 724 Sylvan Dr., is charged with six counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, evading arrest and especially aggravated burglary.
In the incident on Saturday, police said Williams struck a hospital employee prior to barging out of the facility.
An officer was directed to where Williams was running, but he declined to stop and had to be tackled. He said Williams continued to fight him and had the upper hand until he tased him.
He said Williams then ran into a nearby home. The officer followed him inside while holding a taser on him and calling for help.
The officer said Williams began to fight him again. The homeowner, who kept saying his children were in the house, also became embroiled in the fight. At one point, Williams gained control of the taser.
A K-9 was brought in, but it finally took additional officers to restrain Williams.
