Over 800 freshmen at Lee University recently participated in the annual Operation Christmas Child Pack N’ Stack party in the Paul Dana Walker Arena.

Dr. Mike Hayes, vice president for student development at Lee, spoke during the packing party and highlighted the importance of the event and the commitment that Lee has put into packing almost 35,000 boxes over the past 20 years.

“Every year, I am reminded of the amazing ways that the Lord can use us when we work together on behalf of others,” said Rochelle Mayberry, director of Lee’s first year programs.
“It is such a gift to watch our freshman students choose to give of their own time, energy, and money to demonstrate the love of Christ to children around the world. Their enthusiasm and commitment inspire me, and I am enormously proud of their hearts to give and serve.”

Over 2,900 boxes were packed at Pack N’ Stack this year. In addition to the boxes packed that evening, other university offices and students packed boxes.

“Each box that is packed represents a face, a family, and a community that we pray will be impacted and transformed by the immense love of God,” said Ms. Mayberry.

Pack N’ Stack, which is organized for freshman Gateway classes, also included 90 peer leaders, 40 Gateway instructors, and students involved with the Student Leadership Council at Lee.
