Linda Mae Fleming Thomas, 81, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017.
She was born in Rossville on June 11, 1936 and was a member of the Rossville High School band
and the Class of 1954. She was a 50-year member of Daisy First Baptist Church (now FBC Soddy-Daisy).
She was active in the Daisy Junior Women's Club and Choir, the Soddy-Daisy Jaycettes, and served in the Soddy-Daisy Junior Miss program. She was employed by R.L. Scobey & Son, Nashville, and
Charles & Vinzant, Birmingham, general contractors, where she worked as office manager with her
husband. She was a loving caretaker for her brother-in- law, Emmett.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Eugene "Gene" Thomas; her parents Roy P. Fleming, Sr. and Julia Margaret Hughes Fleming; brother Roy P. Fleming, Jr.; and nephew Larry Fleming.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Thomas (Chris) of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Eugenia Thomas and Lanette Thomas of Hixson; grandchildren, Hunter Thomas and Mattie Thomas; nephews Ronnie Fleming (Flavia) and Darrell Fleming of Rossville, and Wade Siler (Cindy) of Murfreesboro; special friends, Cathy Crawley and Penny Leffew; and her loving dog, Dolly.
Visitation will be at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, Soddy-Daisy, on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 5-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be Sunday, Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel officiated by son KennethThomas, and nephew Ronnie Fleming. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
