Lucy Thomas
Lucy Jane Thomas, age 65, entered into the presence of Jesus early Thursday morning, November 23, 2017 in Athens.
Lucy was born in Rhea County on February 4, 1952 the daughter of the late Aaron and Roxie (Gaddis) Roberts.
She was a graduate of Rhea Central High School and enjoying sewing, singing praises to her Lord and church work. She served as a pastor’s wife for 46 years in numerous communities and Church of God congregations throughout Tennessee.
Lucy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rev. Arthur Thomas of Niota, her son, Allen (Tammy) Thomas of Niota, her daughter, Glenna Thomas of Cowan, three grandchildren, Tessa Nicole Thomas, Justin (Megan) Thomas and Jonathan Thomas and two great-grandchildren, Reed and Piper Thomas. She is also survived by two brothers, Willard Roberts of Dayton and Paul Roberts of Spring City and four sisters, JoAnn Reed of Evensville, Ruby Stinnett, Fleta Clingan and Faye Watson all of Dayton.
Funeral services for Lucy will be held Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry Ledford officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
