Harold Lamar Taylor, Sr. 85, of Rossville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Harold pastored several area congregations over his 62 years of ministry including Canaan Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ernie and Zola Taylor; beloved wife, Clara “Johnnie” Taylor; and sister, Yvonne Thompson Sills.
He is survived by his children, Kathy (David) Taylor, of Chickamauga, Tony (Barbara) Wallin, Jan Bowman, of Rossville, R.D. (Lisa) Wallin, of Lafayette, Steve (Pamela) Wallin, of Chickamauga, Betty Marie, Vicki and Harold Taylor, Jr.; sisters, Marie (Charley) Camp, of Dothan, Al., Carolyn (Jim) Blocker, of Punta Gorda, Fl.; brother, David (Kathy)Taylor, of Chickamauga; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with pastors Joe Gill, R.D. Wallin and David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee/Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Greg Taylor, Casey, Matt, Jon, Tyler and Josh Wallin serving as pallbearers.
