Ernestine Lawson Boaz departed this life on November 23, 2017.  

She was a graduate of Howard High School and Clark College. 

Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband, Julius R. Boaz; brothers, George (Olene) Lawson and Lou David Lawson.  

 She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Nichole E. Boaz, DDS of Chattanooga; her goddaughter, Kimberly (Cedric) H. McCartherens of Acworth, Georgia; her sisters, Minerva (Walter) Parks of Chattanooga; Mary Louise (George) King of Tampa, Florida; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Lawson of Chattanooga; dear family friend John P. Franklin, Sr. of Chattanooga, other relatives and dear friends.

The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Memorial ceremonies will be held on Thursday, at 5 p.m., Chattanooga Chapter of Carats, Inc., and 6 p.m., Chattanooga Chapter of Links, Inc.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. following the ceremonies.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 4791 Hal Drive.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
