Driskill, Billy G. (Chickamauga)

Billy G. Driskill, 79, of Chickamauga, passed away Sunday November 26, 2017 at his home. He was born in Dawson, Al. He was a 1956 graduate of Geraldine High School, Geraldine, Al., where he was a member of the National Beta Club. He was a two-time president of the Rossville Lions Club.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after 40 years of service as a yard conductor.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Idra Driskill and sister Carol McClendon.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Gail Driskill; daughters Tarmara Newman and Tracie (Bob) Wilkes; grandchildren Tara (Jeremy) Swilley, Chanavi (Scott) Houser, Meleigha Hartman and Justin Wilkes; great-grandchildren Laurel Crawley, Raine Shrader, Tyler Beene, River Houser and Mason Krech; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Denny McClendon and Dr. Jimmy Young officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Alzheimer’s Association.

Rita LaRock, 72, of Cleveland, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, in a local health care facility. Rita is survived by her children, Larry Nichols and Michelle Nichols Haynes.
