Proposal For RV Park On Hixson Pike Recommended For Denial

  • Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Darrel Jones is proposing to develop an approximately five-acre portion of a 33-acre site on Hixson Pike with a Recreational Vehicle Park with 60 campsites.

The Regional Planning Agency staff is recommending denial for the request.

The site at 9546 Hixson Pike is owned by the Harbor Lights Yacht Club.

The staff said the Lakesite Plan recommends low-density residential for the site.

The proposal would set a precedent for extending the C-1 Convenience Commercial Zone into the adjacent single-family residential neighborhood, the staff said.

The case goes before the Planning Commission on Monday at 1 p.m. at the County Courthouse.
